HRed Hat is the original Open Source Linux ‘company’. Instead of just writing the software and leaving you to it, Red Hat offers commercial support and consultancy services to their customers. This way, you have a backstop and a safety net for your solution.
If you need t use a specific version of a specific piece of software, you can call on Red Hat to give you advice and support with getting it installed on their operating system. If your servers are exhibiting some odd behaviour, you can request help from Red Hat and they will oblige.
Whilst they don’t have the answer to every problem out there, they do have a host of skilled engineers, who know the operating system inside out and even if it turns out not to be an issue with their software, they can often help you to resolve any issues you’re facing.
